DJ provides comprehensive financial planning and investment guidance to help clients make thoughtful decisions about their financial future. Drawing on a strong academic foundation in economics, mathematics, and computer science, as well as a longstanding commitment to service, he helps clients navigate life’s financial complexities with clarity and confidence. He takes an analytical yet personal approach, crafting clear, practical strategies tailored to each client’s goals, values, and stage of life.
Before joining the practice, DJ gained finance and operations experience with an early-stage EV charging startup, where he worked on business intelligence, cost accounting, and investor relations. That experience reinforced the importance of translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers—a perspective he brings to his work with clients today.
From young professionals building their financial foundations to retirees pursuing their next chapter, DJ’s mission is to help clients align their financial decisions with their goals, values, and vision for the future.
DJ graduated Summa Cum Laude from Santa Clara University, where he earned degrees in Economics and Political Science and completed minors in Mathematics and Computer Science. He was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious academic honor society in the United States. Prior to Santa Clara, DJ attended The Bear Creek School in Redmond, Washington.
DJ’s commitment to service was shaped by fellowship work with social enterprises around the world. In Bolivia, he worked with AHA Bolivia, an ethical manufacturer and member of the World Fair Trade Organization. In Uganda, he helped Smart Havens Africa, an affordable housing developer, quantify its impact to support fundraising activities. These experiences deepened his conviction that his career should serve others and create meaningful impact. That calling ultimately led him to join Doug’s financial advising practice, where he combines an analytical perspective with a genuine interest in people’s stories, goals, and futures.
A lifelong resident of the Seattle area, DJ feels deeply connected to the region’s people and natural beauty. He believes everyone should have the opportunity to build a stable life and enjoy this part of the world. DJ volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and ROOTS Young Adult Shelter, supporting efforts to provide housing, dignity, and opportunity to people in need.
When he’s not meeting with clients or volunteering, DJ can usually be found outdoors—biking, skiing, golfing, playing pickleball or Spikeball with friends, or training for the Half Ironman. He completed STP in 2024, 2025, and 2026 and plans to continue the tradition for as long as he can.
DJ is also a global traveler whose experiences have taken him to places including South America and Western Europe on multiple occasions. He enjoys reading across a wide range of subjects, including history, finance, philosophy, and science fiction, and he has a particular fondness for The Lord of the Rings.
Each year, DJ plays 100 holes of golf on the summer solstice with his dad. He has stayed in a hotel made of salt in Bolivia, enjoys long-distance cycling, and loves spending time with the family dog, Ranger.
